The psychological meaning of suicide

In this article, we will decipher the psychological meaning of suicide according to the understanding of Antonie Peppler, the founder of Creative Homeopathy, and her research on symptom language.

According to her understanding, “symptom language” is a form of somatic communication—the “soma,” respectively, the subconsciousness by utilizing the material body to express an inner conflict that the person must become aware of to balance itself. Thus, we composed a list of related homeopathic remedies that respond to this internal disharmony.

From the understanding of Creative Homeopathy, suicide either happens directly and consciously or indirectly and mostly unconsciously—in the latter case, by developing a life-threatening disease. The underlying psychological meaning of suicide is associated with avoidance of responsibility.

The active suicide

Suicide is a straight way to avoid responsibility by detracting oneself from conflicts. Instead of dealing with emotions and situations that create disharmony, one escapes from the confrontation. This approach is often combined with the unconscious defiant attempt to punish others.

“The defiant punishment”

Suicide
Suicide as a form of defient punischment is used as personal revenge against other people that are close.
The defiant punishment

Individuals with suicidal tendencies are unwilling to see life as a challenging game and tackle conflict with playful joy. The patient has made a lifelong effort to place responsibility for his existence and suffering on others or external circumstances. Often, suicide is an act of defiance to punish a caregiver or caregiver beyond death.

The passive suicide

Slowly dying of severe illness is a form of passive suicide. The underlying motivation can be understood as the same reasoning as in an active attempt to take one’s own life. While it can be a desperate approach to force the attention and help of others, it can also serve as an agonizing, defiant punishment for others.
